Ryan Dungey, 19 years old, Team Rockstar/Makita Suzuki.

First time you were on a motorcycle?
When I was about five years old in Minnesota. I was on a PW-50 out at a sand track.

How many years have you been racing?
14 years

Why do you like racing so much?
It’s just something, I’ve always done since I was little. It kind of started out just riding and then went into racing and that’s pretty much the route I wanted to take because it was fun and on the weekends. It’s just kind of stuck and I really enjoy doing it. It’s also competitive and that’s me. I like that part of it.

Best race you’ve ever seen?
That is really hard to say. There have been so many that I can remember that I can’t pick just one.

Your greatest accomplishment so far?
Aside from wins, I would have to say being named the 2007 Rookie of the Year. That was a big step for me in my career.

Favorite racer of all-time?
Ricky Carmichael

Tell us something about your hometown?
It’s just a small town that’s real mellow. It’s really laid back. There is a lot of fun stuff to do and it’s an enjoyable place to be. I guess you could say it’s peaceful.

One thing you take with you when you travel?
My iPod for sure.

What do you eat before a race?
Chicken, potatoes, and salad.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I pretty much like everything but my favorites are either country or classic rock.

Favorite TV show?
That 70’s Show

Favorite magazine?
Racer X Illustrated.

Most annoying thing about you?
I like things in order and I like being neat. Basically, if it is something under my control I want it to be organized.

Salmon, sweet potato, and asparagus.

When you’re done racing, what would you like to do?
I don’t know. I want a family for sure. I guess I would just see what else is out there. That’s kind of a long way from now so I haven’t really thought about it, but I would definitely like to do something sport related and have a family.
