Miss Supercross Casey - San Francisco
Casey Edmondson

San Francisco was GORGEOUS. I never knew a place like it existed! When I arrived in the airport, it was the most confusing place ever. I think I went up and down all the levels a million times. No worries though, I found my way. I loved the amazing scenery on the way to the hotel. I have to admit, at first it was a little strange to see houses that looked like they where stacked on top of each other. This place looked liked it was straight out of a downtown movie. The cars where all parked inwards on the hills and the houses where almost slanted! San Francisco was going to be a fun time.

When I arrived at my hotel on the water, I really wanted to get a breath of that ocean air. One of my favorite things to do is go running, so I put on the ol' tennies and off I went on Oyster Point Bay. Being originally from California, I must admit it is where my heart is. The weather was perfect and there was not a cloud in the sky. I felt like I could run for miles. Traveling every weekend with Monster Energy Supercross makes staying in hotels so much fun. I feel like I have gotten to know so many people in the industry.

Saturday morning I woke up with a smile on my face. I couldn't wait to see what was in store for San Francisco. I arrived to the stadium around 9:00 am, only to find so many fans already there! The pits didn't open till 12:30, but that did not stop some people from coming early. AT&T Park, home of the Giants, was a place that I had always wanted to visit. Barry Bonds and his home runs have made it such a historical place. I really wanted to walk around the city and explore San Francisco, but I thought checking out the track would be more important.

I was walking the track with some riders, Rhett Urseth and the Blose brothers. It was obviously a little rocky. They told me that the track was going to be slick and that the tire selection was going to be key in how the night would turn out. I was also told that this track was laid out in a way which passing was going to be difficult, however good for racing.

The Pit Party is always the time of day I really look forward to. When I was walking across the bay bridge to get to the other side, I could see the line was enormous just to get in. Go figure when it's a sold out stadium! I had a total blast meeting everyone and being around all the positive energy. Thanks to all the fans that came by to say hi.

Now it was time to buckle up and get ready for the night show. Gates dropped for the lites class heat 2 and right away there was a crash. I was bummed to see my guy, Chris Blose, go down really hard. He remounted and finished the heat but ended up going to the LCQ. What a trooper! He came off the track with a thumb the size of the incredible hulk. It was not broken, and I am no doctor but there had to have been something wrong with it. At least he got to visit me on the podium with an LCQ victory. Hope it gets better soon Chris! J

The lights main class was so intense. Dungey and Weimer where really battling it out for that first place spot. Dungey went down! Weimer ran away with the victory but it was such a good race. It ended up being Weimer, Dungey and Canard for the top 3. Welcome back Trey after that hit to the noggin. You sure came out with a bang. The supercross main event ended with Stewart, Reed and Villopoto. Villotopo really seems on top of his game! He paced the big dog, Chad Reed, the entire race. Well, Thanks to San Fran and every one at the races. Next up, A3!
