Miss Supercross Casey - St. Louis
Casey Edmondson

This whole Miss Supercross experience has been quite the adventure so far. I have gotten to do so many unique things and meet so many people. The one race I could not wait for, however, was indeed St. Louis. Lets just say, I am a HUGE Travis Pastrana fan. I have pictures from when I first met him at a signing party at a local No Fear shop when I was 10 years old. I can remember how gitty he made me, and I was shaking in my boots. Finally, I would get to reunite with him. Nitro Circus is by far my favorite show. My mom sets the Tivo every Sunday. When I get home each week, it’s the first thing I do is watch it. I was so curious to see if Jolene and Andy Bell would be there as well. They where!!

It was during the "riders track walk" when I spotted the famous "Travis." I was completely star Struck. I couldn’t believe that 9 years later I would see him again. Right behind him was Jolene and Andy as well. I wanted to walk up to him, but the courage just was not coming out. Usually, I am a "go getter" when it comes to meeting people, but Travis is my idol. I admire his daredevil ways and all the insane things he does. I just knew I had to do it. I walked right up to him and introduced myself. He was super nice!! I must say, I felt like I was ten again. I couldn’t wait to see how the race was going to turn out, considering he designed the track.

Finally, St. Louis had a pit party. This meant that I got to actually hang out with the fans. As I walked up to the tent I noticed a line, and it was for me? I never thought I would see the day! I actually spent over two hours with everyone. They were so awesome. I had one fellow come up to take a picture with me and said," I just farted." This was by far the most random, funniest thing I had ever heard. I could not stop laughing (not that I was laughing at him, it’s natural, it happens). The situation in itself was just classic.

It was time for the show to begin. When they introduced Travis Pastrana, the crowd went WILD. It was so loud in that stadium. All eyes where on him when he pulls off a backflip, off a burm like it was nothing! I didn’t even know that was possible. Soon after, Pastrana, Stewart and Andrew Short did a hot lap. There went Travis again doing a back flip off the finish line jump. He was just full of surprises. The whole stadium was standing up with excitement.

The race was definitely one to watch. In the lites class, I was so happy to see Blake Wharton on the number 61 bike pull through with his first victory of the season. Austin Stroupe came in second following Nicco Izzi. The big question was," where was Pourcel?" He won his heat race, and mentioned how sick he was. Poor guy, I hope he gets better soon.

The Supercross heat race. Travis was up, and all eyes where on that starting line. I was hoping to see Travis make it to the main event without going to the LCQ. Unfortunately that was not the case. With James Stewart going down twice in that heat race, I thought for sure it would happen. Travis went down with only 2 more laps to go. It was off to the LCQ f or the number 199. In the LCQ, however, Travis bumped into another rider and actually cracked his radiator. He must have hit him pretty hard in order for this to happen! But Travis was done for the day. The crowd was cheering and everyone thanked him for coming out.

The main event was so exciting. James Stewart and Chad Reed definitely put on a show for us. They where in a battle the whole time. Stewart went down, again, about half way through the race, which led Reed to the Victory. With Stewart in second, it was nice to see Josh Grant back up on the podium with a solid third place.

This weekend could not have gone any better. Next up is Canada! I can’t wait. I hope to see you all there. This race will be one to remember. See ya :)
